A classic combo dogs adore, with the added goodness of pumpkin! These are perfect for a festive snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or gluten-free flour)

  • 1/2 cup pure pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling)

  • 1/4 cup natural, unsweetened peanut butter (xylitol-free!)

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup water (add more if needed for consistency)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and egg.
  • Gradually add water until a firm dough forms.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter (or any fun Halloween shape!) to cut out treats.
  • Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and firm.
  • Let cool completely on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
